And Then Thanksgiving Happened
|
|
All was going well, and I'd kept up rather decently in terms of records and
the like. And then December happened. It followed Thanksgiving. That was
swell. I've kinda tried to make the first entry of the month something
that was reflective and was like a month in review. Being busy around the
first, I decided to put it off. And here we are, the 24th of December, and
I haven't said anything in thirty days. Obviously, if I'm taking some time
out, things can't be too bad. I'm two weeks behind on the dailies and I've
been trying to spend lots of time with friends. And that was this past
month. November? It was alright, too. Even though I'm not in school, it
feels like I've just been waiting to get through the semester. The past
few months haven't been the most ideal of situations, and I'm glad that
there's this winter break where things can just settle. I was kept
relatively occupied in November and December with the little work and
Brian projects. I wish there was more to it, but that's the basic
summary. I'll get into more of the finer, more interesting details and
stories when I set aside more time. Maybe I'll go into one of those "hours
of catching up" sorts of moods. There's so much I could be doing. And
more things I should be doing. Like those holiday cards... thank goodness
I don't call them something holiday specific- otherwise I'd be in a panic.
A December 27th postmark won't bother me! I hope all your Thanksgivings
were wonderful, and that any remaining friend and family celebrations are
good times, indeed. Happy Christmahansakwanzadanstice, yo.

Holiday
|
'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
many creatures were stirring, and yet, none a mouse.
Dad's back from work, lying on his back
an On-Demand film and the warmth outdoors did lack.
And Mom was still cooking for the family feast
at relatives' houses; lots of food's a feat, none the least.
And down in the basement, without so much clatter
are dogs Sandy and Toby watching turtle Bobo's swimming patter
as camped out in front of the big screen you'd see
Mark and Denise still wrapping and watching some TV.
And next door to them, Cheryl's no last tasks to endure...
Some DVD watching; likely "Love Actually," I'm sure.
And sorta above there just a bit South and upstairs
is Brian on email on the computer named "downstairs".
After some rest, there shall be great holiday delight
After all of the action this Christmas Eve night.
Merry Christmas, yo. (And a happy Christmahanakwanzadanstice season to
all!)
